After more than two years of construction, completion is nearing for SP7, Skid Row Housing Trust's latest permanent supportive housing development.

The project, named for its location at the northwest corner of 7th and San Pedro Streets, consists of a seven-story building featuring 81 studio apartments above a subterranean parking garage.

According to a 2018 staff report to the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, the $48.3 million will cater to households earning at or below 50 and 60 percent of the area median income.  At the time the project was issued tax credits, rents were expected to range from $788 to $946 per month.

KFA Architecture designed the podium-type building, which is described as having a "sleek, contemporary look with several shared roof decks and courtyards."  In addition to housing, the project will include a community room, a laundry facility, recreation spaces, and on-site supportive services.

The pending completion of SP7 comes on the heels of the debut of the Flor 401 and 649 Lofts, two additional supportive housing completed by Skid Row Housing trust in 2020.  The project site is also located one block south of the intersection of 6th and San Pedro Streets, where the Weingart Center is planning additional homes in a series of high-rise structures.
