Long Beach's historic Breakers Hotel is set to return on November 7, reports Longbeachize.

The nearly century-old property, located at 210 E. Ocean Boulevard, will reopen as the Fairmont Breakers after a multi-year restoration with a nine-figure budget led by Long Beach-based investment firm Pacific6. The 14-story building, once a senior home, will contain 185 guest rooms, 22 suites, and various food-and-beverage venues.

Longbeachize also reports that the project benefited from a $122.2-million loan which came in February 2024, roughly half of which was C-PACE financing.

Guests at the hotel will have access to a two-story spa, which is also to be available to visitors via reservation. other amenities include a live jazz club, a fitness center, and a rooftop pool deck.

Designed by Walken and Eisen, the Spanish Renaissance Revival building opened its doors in 1926 as a luxury oceanfront resort. Prior to its conversion back to a hotel, the building functioned as a 233-unit congregate care facility.

The debut of the Fairmont Breakers follows roughly one year after another Downtown Long Beach landmark, the 1920s Ocean Center Building, reopened as housing. That restoration was also led by Pacific6.
