A year-and-a-half after our last update, Cypress Equity Investments (CEI) is wrapping up construction at Junction Santa Monica, the company's new apartment complex at 1641 Lincoln Boulevard.

The project, located on the former site of an Aaron Brothers store, consists of a four-story building featuring 66 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments above 5,300 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and a three-level basement garage.

Rent at Junction start at $3,675 per month.

KFA Architecture designed the development, which alludes to the neighboring E Line with an exterior patterned after boxcars and rails.  The podium-type building is clad with wood siding, metal panels, and glass.

The project is the second of three developments built by Cypress Equity Investments and Century West Partners along the stretch of Lincoln between Colorado Avenue and the I-10 Freeway - the others being the two halves of the Catherine apartments.

Other local projects from CEI include a market-rate housing development planned on Wilshire Boulevard and an affordable housing complex slated for Pico-Union.
