Non-profit developer Hollywood Community Housing Corporation is putting the finishing touches on the Stanford Avenue Apartments, a new affordable and permanent supportive housing complex in the unincorporated community of West Compton.

The three-story building, located on a 2.7-acre site at 14773-14803 S. Stanford Avenue, will feature 85 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments reserved for low-income families and formerly homeless persons.

Shelter LLP, the architecture firm behind the project, designed the apartments to reduce energy and water consumption, employing features such as solar thermal water heating and drought tolerant landscaping.

The apartments will be offered at rents deemed affordable to households earning between 30 and 60 percent of the area median income, according to a 2018 staff report to the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee.

Completion of the Stanford Avenue Apartments is on pace to occur in November, according to a news release distributed by the developer.

Hollywood Community Housing is currently developing projects in Walnut ParkHarvard HeightsNorth Hills, and Historic South-Central.
