An initial study published by the Los Angeles Planning Department has unveiled renderings for a proposed multifamily residential complex in City West.
The project, which comes from Los Angeles-based La Terra Development, would replace an auto repair facility at the southwest corner of Temple Street and Beaudry Avenue with an eight-story building containing 53 apartments and a three-level parking podium with accommodations for 64 private vehicles. Plans call for a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments - of which four would be set aside as affordable housing at the very-low-income level.
Urban Architecture Lab is designing the mid-rise structure, which would rise to a maximum height of 94 feet above-grade. Renderings show a contemporary design with a dark exterior of cement plaster and open spaces in the form of a central courtyard and a rooftop pool deck.
Construction of the project at 1100 Temple Street is anticipated to occur over approximately 18 months.
The project site is located directly across Beaudry from the sprawling Ferrante apartments, a G.H. Palmer Associates development that will feature approximately 1,500 residential units. A block west on Boylston Avenue, construction is now wrapping up for the Eastview apartments.
