Developers Ledcor Properties Inc.; Anderson Pacific, LLC; and Qualico Developments Inc. have opened a temporary leasing trailer for the Current, Downtown Long Beach's latest residential tower.  The 17-story building, located at the corner of Ocean Boulevard and Alamitos Avenue, is comprised of 223 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, 6,750 square feet of ground-floor and a 10,000-square-foot pedestrian plaza.  Completion of the $70-million development is scheduled for April 2016.

"The Current is the first high-rise luxury rental tower to be developed in [Long Beach] in over 50 years," said Ryan Altoon, executive vice president of Anderson Pacific, LLC.  "[The building] integrates advanced technology with a healthy living environment, all through sustainable design."

The potentially LEED Gold-certified development's modern aesthetic was created by an architectural team consisting of San Franciso-based BA Architects and El Segundo's Rockefeller Partners Architects.  A series of renderings, seen below, portrays the project's interior features and rooftop amenity deck.

Construction of a second phase of the Current - consisting of a 35-story condominium tower - is slated to follow on an adjacent property.
