An environmental study published by the City of Los Angeles offers a first glimpse of a proposed affordable housing development in Wilmington.

The project, which is being developed by LINC Housing Corp., would replace a vacant lot at 1424 N. Deepwater Avenue with a three-story, 51,000-square-foot building featuring 56 apartments - with 55 priced for very low-income households.  Plans also call for on-site supportive services.

D33 Design & Planning is the designing the apartment complex.  Architectural plans show a contemporary three-story structure featuring 19 parking stalls.

The project's initial study does not specify an estimated construction timeline.

LINC Housing, which is based in Long Beach, ranks among the region's most prolific builders of affordable and permanent supportive housing.  The non-profit has ongoing projects in Willowbrook, Watts, Long Beach, and San Pedro, among other neighborhoods.
