Five months after we last dropped by, the concrete podium of the Empire at Fairfax is now complete in West Hollywood, and wood frame construction is beginning to take shape above.
Located at the northwest corner of Fairfax Avenue and Romaine Street, the five-story development will include 34 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments - including five affordable units - atop ground-floor retail space and basement parking.
Designed by Levin-Morris Architects, the contemporary podium-type development will include amenities such as a fitness center, a swimming pool, and a rooftop deck. Plans also call for an open-air courtyard facing the southern property line.
Completion of Empire at Fairfax is expected in Summer 2021.
The developer behind the project, Los Angeles-based Empire Property Group, has previously built multifamily housing projects in West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Bel Air.
Other developments planned near the Empire site include office and hotel projects planned by West Hollywood-based Faring.
