Architectural plans posted by the West L.A. Sawtelle Neighborhood Council offer a first look at Westgate Manor, the latest apartment complex slated for Santa Monica Boulevard.
In October 2018, plans were filed with the City of Los Angeles to redevelop a parking lot and a small commercial building at 11857-11861 Santa Monica with a five-story building that would feature 52 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments - including five affordable units - with parking for 60 vehicles.
A rendering of the proposed development, which is being designed by Plus Architects, portrays a contemporary low-rise building.
The development site is owned by Kami Farhadi, the owner and Chief Executive of Starline Tours, through an entity called BHP022, LLC.
Additional details regarding the project, such as a timeline and a budget, are not indicated in the plans obtained by the neighborhood council.
The project site is located across the street from two new mixed-use projects from CIM Group, which will place apartments above ground-floor retail in eye-catching buildings designed by LOHA.
