A pair of small commercial buildings in the Florence neighborhood of South Los Angeles could be redeveloped with multifamily housing, according to an application submitted recently to the Department of City Planning.

The approximately 13,700-square-foot development site, located at 5913-5925 S. Broadway, is slated for the construction of a five-story edifice featuring 60 apartments.

Requested entitlements for the project include Transit Oriented Communities incentives, indicating that a portion of the housing would be set aside for lower-income renters.

City records list the development applicant as Mega Investment Holding, LLC, a West Los Angeles-based entity managed by Arash Soleimani.

Labyrinth Design Studio is designing the proposed apartment complex.
