An auto repair garage in Sawtelle could be redeveloped with multifamily housing, according to plans submitted earlier this month to the City of Los Angeles.

The proposed development, slated for a property at 11568 Pico Boulevard, calls for the construction of a five-story edifice featuring 30 studio and one-bedroom apartments - including three reserved for very low-income households - above semi-subterranean parking for 15 vehicles.

Plus Architects is designing the project, which would include a ground-floor gym and a rooftop amenity deck.

City records list the project applicant as Farinaz Naimi.

The development site - located roughly equidistant to Metro's Expo/Bundy and Expo/Sepulveda Stations - is one of several multifamily residential projects planned along Pico Boulevard.  Another project designed by Plus Architects is now rising just west at Pico and Federal Avenue.
