A used car dealership near a Metrolink commuter rail station in Van Nuys had made way for a multifamily residential development.

The project, located at 7639 Van Nuys Boulevard, consists of a five-story building which will offer 36 one- and two-bedroom apartments - including four affordable units - above a partially subterranean parking garage with 52 vehicle stalls.

City records list the project applicant as an entity managed by Benjamin Cohen.

GA Engineering designed the podium-type building.

The project sits almost directly across the street from Metrolink's Van Nuys Station which recently underwent a renovation that added a new center passenger platform and pedestrian undercrossing.
