Los Angeles-based Canfield Development is putting the finishing touches on a new condo project in the Mid-Wilshire neighborhood

The project, called the Estelle, is located just north of Pico Boulevard at 1323-1339 S. Orange Grove Avenue.  The five-story building will include 61 two- and three-bedroom dwellings - including five reserved for very low-income affordable units - above parking for 122 vehicles.

PK Architecture designed the stucco-clad podium-type building, which has a Spanish Colonial Revival exterior.  Renderings show on-site amenities such as a rooftop deck and a fitness center.

Completion of the Estelle is expected later this year.

The project site is located along a stretch of Pico Boulevard where several mixed-use apartment buildings are now under construction, including a Googie-inspired complex at Stearns Drive and an 80-unit development that replaced an auto repair garage at Ogden Drive.

Canfield's other ongoing projects include a 73-unit apartment building now under construction near USC and a mixed-use structure proposed next to Metro's Vermont/Santa Monica subway station.
