A flythrough video revealed by the City of Irvine offers a look at future plans for green spaces and amenities at the Great Park.

The 200-acre section, called "The Heart of the Park," is shown in the animated tour as a sprawling space with pathways, meadows, and water features. Specific features within this part of the Great Park include:

  • the Grand Promenade - a two-mile pedestrian connection through the park between Cadence and the Irvine Train Station;
  • the Great Meadow;
  • North Lake -  a 13.7-acre artificial lake;
  • South Lake - an additional 4.1-acre water feature surrounded by amenities;
  • an amphitheater;
  • Full Circle Farm, which would be used for special events and farm-to-table dining and programming; and
  • Timeline Bridge.

The city's landscape architect SWA is designing the space.

“It’s just incredible to view the seven coming features of the Heart of the Park and see where they will be placed in the park,” said Mayor Farrah N. Khan. “The masterminds behind this project spared no detail, and I can’t wait to see the park transform into a world-class destination.”

Great Park, expected to cost more than $1 billion, will span across 1,300 acres of land when completed, making it one of the largest municipal parks in the world.
