Four-story, 15-unit apartment building nears completion next to Ballona Creek

In Del Rey, a stretch of Centinela Avenue to the north of Ballona Creek has yielded a series of new multifamily residential buildings.

Category Company, a Los Angeles-based real estate development firm, is putting the finishing touches on its latest apartment complex at 4981 Centinela Avenue.  The four-story, 15-unit building sits on a corner site a short walk east from the linear Milton Street Park.

Bittoni Architects, which frequently works with Category Company, designed the project, which includes common open space, private balconies, and subterranean parking.

The new apartment complex sits directly south of a similar four-story, 25-unit apartment building which made its debut earlier this year.

The two developments both replaced a total of three single-family homes.

Category Company and Bittoni are also working on multifamily housing projects now under construction in West Adams and Mar Vista, as well as a handful of proposed developments.
