Documents posted by the Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council have unveiled plans for a senior affordable housing development at 14534 Burbank Boulevard.

The proposed development from Mercy Housing calls for redeveloping the site of a 1940s triplex with a four-story, 55-unit apartment building reserved for low- and very low-income seniors.  Plans also call for a roof deck, a rear yard, a community room, and parking for 17 vehicles in one basement level.

TCA Architects is designing the contemporary low-rise structure, according to the plans.

Additional details regarding the project, such as a budget and a timeline, are unclear based on the materials.

The Neighborhood Council voted to support the project, reports the Los Angeles Daily News.

Mercy Housing is building a similar senior affordable development in the Pico-Robertson area.
