An abandoned home near Venice Boulevard could make way for a new development of townhouse style condominiums, according to documents scheduled to be reviewed by the Culver City Planning Commission.
The property, located at 3846 Bentley Avenue, was developed in its current form in the late 1930s or early 1940s. The home has been empty since 2017.
Applicant and architect Urban Design Specialists proposes to raze the existing structure to make way for the development of a four residential units. Each would have more three-bedroom floor plans in excess of 1,900 square feet, with access to a nine-car underground parking garage.
Renderings depict a contemporary two-story structure, clad in stucco and accented with wood and stone panels.
A community outreach meeting was held regarding the project in November 2018. A summary of the meeting submitted by the applicant indicates that only one neighbor attended, and commented that the project was "in compliance with the neighborhood."
The Planning Commission is scheduled to review the proposed condominiums on September 25.
The property is currently being marketed for sale at a price of $1.79 million.
