Two years after the proposed Cheval Blanc hotel went belly up, Louis Vuitton parent company LVMH is pivoting to a backup plan for a marquee property on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.

According to multiple published reports, LVMH intends to open up a 45,000-square-foot flagship store for Louis Vuitton at 458 Rodeo Drive. The three-story building will include women's and men's products, beauty products, jewelry, watches, and travel merchandise. Additionally, the two-building structure will house exhibition space and multiple food venues.

Architect Frank Gehry is designing the new store, while Peter Marino - the architect attached to the ill-fated Cheval Blanc project - has been tapped to design interiors. Renderings depict a contemporary look for the store, which would have a landscaped rooftop deck.

Construction of the store is expected to commence in 2026 and 2029. Approvals by the City of Beverly Hills will be required prior to the start of work.
