Newport Beach-based developer PacTen Partners has taken another step forward in its proposal to construct a condo building in Downtown's City West neighborhood, with the release today of the project's initial study.
The project, which would replace a handful of small commercial buildings at 1150 W. Wilshire Boulevard, calls for the construction of a 14-story, 185-foot-tall tower that would contain 140 studio, one-, and two-bedroom dwellings above a podium featuring 257 parking stalls and 9,115 square feet of ground-floor commercial space.
Designed by KTGY Architecture + Planning, with landscapes and open spaces by EPT Design, the mid-rise structure would feature large amenity decks at both its fifth and roof levels. Its design has been described as consisting of cubic shapes along three street frontages - Wilshire, Lucas, and Ingraham - with a parking podium that is flush with the tower line. Exterior finishes would include stone, metal, and glass.
A timeline for the project has not been announced.
PacTen's proposed development joins a handful of ground-up projects planned or underway in City West, including the long-awaited expansion of TenTen Wilshire, and the 37-story apartment and hotel project slated for an L-shaped site at 7th and Bixel Streets.
