New images from SVA Architects offer a better look at plans for a workforce housing complex at the former Roosevelt Elementary School campus in Pasadena.
The project, which would rise at 315 N. Pasadena Avenue, is being developed by Education Housing Partners. Plans call for the construction 110 homes for Pasadena Unified School District staff in a series of apartments and townhomes. The project is also to include a 5,000-square-foot community center and parking for 223 vehicles.
All homes are to be offered at below market rental rates, with 30 percent designated affordable to those earning up to 80 percent of the area median income level.
SVA Architects' design calls for Spanish Revival style buildings, all standing two or three stories in height. Buildings are shown with white stucco exteriors, red terracotta tile roofs, and common landscaped spaces between.
The project comes nearly two years after 120 PUSD employees lost their homes in the Eaton Fire. Accordingly, the project's masonry and stucco construction is fire resistant.
Construction is set to commence as early as the third quarter of 2027 and be completed over a roughly two-year period.
