An early 20th century building on Downtown's Historic Core is slated for a transformation into market rate housing.

Exterior work is already visible at the Norton Building, which is located at the southwest corner of 6th Street and Broadway.  The six-story office building dates back to 1906, and received a major facade alteration in 1940.  According to a permit filing with the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety, the upper floors of the brick and concrete structure are being converted to 50 residential units, while existing ground-floor retail space will be retained.

South Pasadena-based Youssefian Associates is listed as the architect behind the adaptive reuse project.
