In Hollywood, construction the wrapping has come off at a new small lot subdivision.
The new development, which replaced five apartments at the southwest Willoughby Avenue and Detroit Street, consists of 10 single-family dwellings. The three-story houses are all designed by local architecture firm Modative, according to permit filings with the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety.
City records list the project applicant as an entity managed by investor Jacob Cohan.
The project site sits one block west of the intersection of Willoughby and La Brea Avenue, where two mixed-use buildings have opened in recent years. Developer CIM Group has also transformed a series of industrial properties to the east of La Brea into a budding office and commercial district.
Other projects located nearby include EAH Housing's Pointe on La Brea, a proposed supportive housing complex which would replace an auto repair shop.
