To obtain state certification for its housing element, the City of Santa Monica selected developer Hollywood Community Housing Corp. to redevelop a trio of parking lots along the Wilshire corridor. Community meetings scheduled to start later this month will offer a look at what could be in store for these sites.

The three sites, all of which are located within three blocks of one another, include:

  • 1217 Euclid Street;
  • 1211-1217 14th Street, and
  • 1146 16th Street.

Kevin Daly Architects is designing the proposed developments, with The People Concern tapped as service provider for future residents and Morley Builders providing pre-construction consultation.

While exact designs and development concepts for the properties have yet to be revealed, conceptual renderings included in a project website depict contemporary podium-type buildings between five and six stories in height. Each would use courtyards and podium decks to provide open space for residents.
