A nearly eight-year-old proposal to build multifamily housing and a new hotel near near Pasadena City College is showing signs of life.
In 2016, J&K Plus Investments, LLC - an entity affiliated with San Gabriel-based developer Landwin Investments - secured approvals for the construction of two buildings at 1336 and 1347-1355 E. Colorado Boulevard. Plans call for the construction of a seven-story, 375-key hotel with subterranean parking at the north parcel and a four-story edifice featuring roughly 49 residential units above 40,916 square feet of ground-floor retail space and subterranean parking on the south parcel.
Illustrations of the proposed project, which designed by Moule & Polyzoides, depict two low-rise structures using tiered building heights to match the scale of surrounding structures.
According to a staff report to the Pasadena Design Commission, the developer recently submitted an application to the City of Pasadena for a concept design review for 1336 and 1347 Colorado, triggering an informational presentation on the history of the proposed project. A presentation on updated plans is anticipated at an unspecified date in the future.
Landwin is also affiliated with a mixed-use development feautring a Hyatt Place hotel and branded condominiums now under construction on Valley Boulevard in San Gabriel.
