A new week brings a new proposal for a mixed-use development in Downtown Los Angeles' booming Arts District.

According to a case filing from the Department of City Planning, an approximately 1.39-acre site at 1000 S. Mateo street is slated for a residential-retail complex featuring 104 live-work units, nine units of affordable housing, 12,700 square feet of production space and over 120,000 square feet of commercial floor area.

The property, which sits between Bay and Sacramento Streets, is currently in use as a storage facility for a private transportation contractor.

A similar campus-style project is planned one block east, on a 1.8-acre site adjacent to the upcoming Soho Warehouse.
