Renderings from OKB Architecture offer a look of what's to come at the Foreman & Clark Building, a former department store and office building in Downtown Los Angeles that is being converted into apartments.
Canadian developer Bonnis Properties is transforming the 1928 building at 7th and Hill Streets into 125 apartments above 8,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space, as detailed earlier this year in a presentation to the Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council. Plans call for a mixture of one- and two-bedroom units, in addition to various outdoor decks and interior amenities such as a fitness center and a media room.
Bonnis, which purchased Foreman & Clark last year for $52 million, will repurpose previously unused mechanical levels at the building's rooftop as a mixture of common space and two penthouse units.
Next door, New York developer Atlas Capital Group is in the process of rehabilitating another former department store at 7th and Olive Streets as creative offices.
