After eight months of construction, the wood frame of the new PATH Metro Villas development is now taking shape in Rampart Village, and is clearly visible to motorists on the nearby Hollywood Freeway.
The project, a joint venture between PATH Ventures and Affirmed Housing Group, will create 187 permanent supportive housing units and 88 interim housing beds on a property at 340 N. Madison Avenue. Plans also call for on-site supportive services, such as case management and a job-training kitchen.
Killefer Flammang Architects is designing the project, which will feature a pair of five- and six-story buildings.
Completion of the first phase of the project anticipated in mid-2018.
The second phase, which broke ground today, will include 122 apartments in addition to health clinics. Phase two was funded in part by Measure HHH, a $1.2-billion homeless housing bond initiative passed by Los Angeles voters in 2016. It is the first project to be funded by the measure.
