Metro and its partner Via are switching up its Mobility on Demand program to account for the COVID-19 outbreak, the agency announced yesterday.
As of March 25, the MOD program has been expanded to allow for essential trips to grocery stores, pharmacies, and medical centers. Via will now provide round trips anywhere in its three service zones, not just to transit stations.
Shared rides are being temporarily discontinued to support social distancing, though riders are allowed to bring one passenger. Drivers are required to clean their vehicles before and during their shifts. Starting on March 27, Via will also add service to location located outside of the three zones, as detailed below.

Via will continue to operate between 6 am and midnight on weekdays. Weekend service will begin in April and operate between 8 am and 10 pm.
