Local real estate investment firm FOGEL Development, LLC is wrapping up work on a small mixed-use building near Venice Beach.

The project, which is being built by Shawmut Design and Construction is scheduled to open this month at 305 Ocean Front Walk.  The three-story structure contains ground-floor retail space capped by three rental apartments with rooftop terraces.

Venice-based DU Architects is designing the low-rise structure, which is built with cedar board-formed concrete at its street level.  The housing located above will include finishes such as white oak, quartz, ceramic, and cedar.

A similar development featuring housing and retail is planned at 811-815 Ocean Front Walk.
