A sloping property in Historic Filipinotown that was once slated for an affordable housing complex will instead birth mixed-income apartments.

Yesterday, plans were filed with the City of Los Angeles to construct a multifamily residential development at Temple Street and Rosenell Terrace.  According to a case filing with the Department of City Planning, the project would feature 71 residential units above parking for 88 vehicles and 74 bicycles.  The development would set aside 11% of its total units for very low income households in exchange for density bonus incentives.

City records list the project's developer as Victor Svilik through the limited liability company Caladan Investments.

Previous plans for an affordable housing complex on the nearly one-acre property officially fell through in 2015.

A similar development is already under construction one block west at Temple and Carondolet Streets.
