A document from the West Hollywood Design Review Board offers up a first look at a proposed mixed-use development at the corner of Fairfax and Romaine Avenues.
The project, which comes from Los Angeles-based Empire Property Group, is dubbed the Empire at Fairfax. Plans call for a five-story building featuring 35 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments atop approximately 1,500 square feet of ground-floor commercial space.
Empire's development would contain seven units of subsidized affordable housing - priced for the very-low-, low-, and moderate-income levels.
Levin-Morris Architects is designing the approximately 31,000-square-foot structure, which will incorporate open-space amenities such as a common gym and a rooftop deck with a spa.
A timeline for the project has not been announced.
Empire is currently in the midst of a similar development on Norton Avenue.
