Just west of Metro's Culver City Station, wood framing is starting to rise for a mixed-use development that will be the site of housing and the new headquarters of a local engineering and construction firm.
The project at 3727 S. Robertson Boulevard is being developed by Icon West, Inc., which will have 5,000 office space on the property when completed. But in addition, the five-story building will also feature 12 two-bedroom apartments, 1,700 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, and parking for 23 vehicles located at-grade and in a subterranean garage.
As a condition of approval, three of the new apartments a to be set aside for rent at below market rates.
BOLADarck is designing the contemporary podium-type building, which is to be clad in painted stucco and brick. Plans show an L-shaped atrium on the upper levels of the building, as well as an amenity deck overlooking Robertson Boulevard.
The project is relatively modest in scale compared to other developments spurred by the nearby Metro station, including the $350-million Ivy Station complex, which includes apartments, a hotel, retail, and offices now leased by Warner Bros. Discovery. Apple has also started work on a more than 500,000-square-foot office campus a block east of the station at Venice and National Boulevards.
