A commercial building one block off of Van Nuys Boulevard is set for redevelopment, per an application submitted yesterday to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.

The proposed project, which would rise at 14600 W. Victory Boulevard and 6371 N. Vesper Avenue, calls for the construction of a mixed-use building featuring 44 apartments above 2,376 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and parking for 33 vehicles.

Although the project is an otherwise by-right project using Citywide Housing Incentive Program development bonuses, a Planning filing was required to the project's location in a design overlay. Plans call for six units of low- and very low-income affordable housing.

City records list the owner and applicant as Victory View, LLC - an entity managed by the chief executive of Closet World - and the project representative as GA Engineering.

Similar developments are in the works at several sites along the Van Nuys corridor, which will eventually be served by the East San Fernando Valley light rail line. A mixed-use building is planned for a site across the street at the intersection of Vesper Avenue and Friar Street.
