In April, the Santa Ana City Council approved entitlements for the Madison, a proposed mixed-use development located east of the Orange County city's downtown.
The project, slated for a vacant 2.79-acre property at 200 N. Cabrillo Park Drive, would consist of a six-story building featuring 260 residential units - including four live/work units - above 6,600 square feet of commercial space and parking for up to 445 vehicles.
Architecture firm MVE + Partners is designing the podium type development, which would consist two mid-rise wings elevated around a central amenity deck. A landscaped courtyard would front the street, with a staircase leading up to an outdoor deck.
The Madison, which is proposed by West Hollywood-based Bisno Development, was initially rejected by the Santa Ana Planning Commission due to a variance requested for its parking garage.
