Protective fencing now encircles a car wash at the corner of Vine Street and Willoughby Avenue in Hollywood, the first signs of work for a new mixed-use development at the property.
Located at 901 N. Vine Street, the proposed five-story building would contain 76 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments above approximately 3,200 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and parking for 90 vehicles at-grade and on one basement level.
The contemporary low-rise development is being designed by Plus Architects. City records show that the building would be clad with a mix of stucco, cement, and metal, and feature amenities such as a courtyard pool, a gym, and a rooftop deck.
The project applicant is listed as a limited liability company called Vine Equity Capital. Building permits issued last month for the project by the City of Los Angeles were valued at $16 million, according to the Real Deal.
The development site is located just north of the former home of the Musician's Union, which is being redeveloped by LPC West as part of a low-rise office campus.
