A proposal to build a mixed-use apartment complex near the A Line's Anaheim Street Station in Long Beach is set to face the Long Beach Planning Commission.

The project at 400 E. Anaheim Street, slated to replace a small commercial building, calls for the construction of a new seven-story complex featuring 161 studio, one-, and two-bedroom homes (including street-fronting townhomes) with 6,556 square feet of ground-floor commercial space (Long Beach Grocery Co-op will reportedly be a ground-floor tenant) and parking for 91 vehicles.

Property records list the owner of the site at Project 400, LLC, which is linked to the Las Vegas-based entities Doc Ops Physician Management, LLC and TIF Management, LLC. Hilco Development Services is serving as the owner's representative, according to plans.

The proposed development, which Longbeachize reports is named Apsara, is set to include 38 moderate-income apartments. Planning Commission authorization is required, as the Long Beach's inclusionary housing ordinance would otherwise require the provision of 18 very low-income units.
