Construction has topped out at 11407 W. Santa Monica Boulevard, site of a mixed-use apartment building from Wiseman Residential.
The five-story development, located at the northwest corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and Purdue Avenue, will feature 51 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments - including four affordable units - above 1,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space and a two-level, 88-car subterranean parking structure.
The contemporary low-rise structure, designed by Uriu & Associates, will feature a rooftop garden and cantilevered balconies. The project is similar in appearance to other Wiseman projects designed by the same firm, with cantilevered balconies and a stucco exterior.
The project site was once home to the Dolores Restaurant & Bakery, which closed in 2012 after six decades in business. Wiseman purchased the land in 2017.
The surrounding stretch of Santa Monica has recently seen several proposals for similar mixed-use projects, including a 180-unit building with a Whole Foods Market at Barrington Avenue and a 119-unit development that would replace a gas station near the I-405 Freeway.
Wiseman recently completed a 56-unit development on Colby Avenue, two blocks west of 11407 Santa Monica Boulevard.
