Nine months after we last checked in, the wrapping is off at 11407 Santa Monica Boulevard, site of a new mixed-use apartment complex from Wiseman Residential

Located at the northwest corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and Purdue Avenue, the five-story building will offer 51 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments - with four set aside ass affordable housing - atop 1,500 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and 88 subterranean parking spaces.

Uriu & Associates, which frequently works on projects for Wiseman, designed the 11407 Santa Monica development.  The building, which will be capped by a rooftop garden, has a similar appearance to the company's other apartment buildings.

Completion is expected later this year.

Numerous projects featuring apartments are retail are slated for nearby properties along Santa Monica Boulevard, including a 180-unit development planned at Barrington Avenue and a 100-unit apartment complex that would replace a car wash at Federal Avenue.

Wiseman recently purchased another development site located a few blocks east near the 405 Freeway which was entitled by a prior property owner for the construction of a 119-unit apartment building.

Across Santa Monica Boulevard from the new project, the City and County of Los Angeles are preparing to jointly issue a request for proposals for the redevelopment of the aging West Los Angeles Civic Center.
