A tipster in Koreatown has sent word that a new multi-family residential complex is in the works for three parcels at the intersection of 5th Street and Kenmore Avenue.

According to a notice of public hearing posted last week at 443-453 South Kenmore Avenue, a trio of low-rise apartment buildings may soon be felled for a larger development.  The approximately .61-acre site is owned by Canfield Development, a Los Angeles-based real estate firm which specializes in infill projects.

The new mutli-family development - dubbed the Kenmore - would consist of a seven-story structure featuring 64 studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments above two levels of above-grade parking.  Architectural renderings displayed on Canfield's website portray the building with an outdoor amenity deck which would offer a jacuzzi, a barbeque area and outdoor seating.

Construction of the approximately $22 million development is expected to conclude in 2016.

The project site is located one block north of Kenmore @ 6th, a proposed development which would stack three floors of apartments above a 1920s parking garage.
