Just west of the 405 Freeway in Westchester, the exterior of a new self-storage facility designed by Morphosis has been unveiled.

The project from Cardiff Mason Development, built on the former site of a mortuary at 7366 Osage Avenue, is an approximately 50,000-square-foot building consisting of three above-grade levels, three below-grade levels, and parking for 17 vehicles.

Renderings of the Osage Avenue development depicted a building with a metal exterior inlaid with text, highlighted by a yellow painted wall beneath exterior screens. The real-life product features a darker shade of metal than shown in the conceptual images.

The project, which began construction in the first half of 2023, was projected to be built over approximately 23 months by an environmental report published by the City of Los Angeles.

The project site, located just west of the I-405 Freeway, is located in a section of Westchester dominated by post-World War II single-family homes.  However, a mixed-use apartment building opened across the street from the property along La Tijera Boulevard in 2019.
