The Washington View Apartments, located immediately south of the historic Pierce Brothers Mortuary at 720 W. Washington Boulevard, is composed of three-story edifice which will contain 122 apartments reserved for households earning 30, 50, and 60 percent of the area median income.

Rents for the studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments will range from $548 to $1,410 per month, according to a staff report to the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee.

The $48.8-million development was designed by JAG Architects.

The 1920s Pierce Brothers Mortuary, a Spanish Colonial Revival landmark located near the interchange of the 10 and 110 freeways, is billed as the first full-service funeral home in Los Angeles.  Page & Turnbull is the preservation architect for the Washington View development, working to restore the roughly 90-year-old building.
