Construction is now underway for the Weddington, Greystar Real Estate Partners' new mixed-use development across the street from Metro's North Hollywood Station.

Located on two properties fronting Chandler Boulevard, Blakeslee Avenue and Weddington Street, the project would consist of dual five-story buildings featuring 329 apartments above 4,300 square feet of ground-floor commercial space.  Per a filing with CRA/LA, plans call for a mixture of traditional apartments, live/work lofts and townhouses.

The residential-retail complex is being designed by VTBS Architects, with renderings portraying contemporary buildings clad with materials including metal sheets and brick veneer.  In a nod to preservationists, the project will incorporate the historic Weddington house which is located on the southeast corner of the property.  The 112-year-old building was named for former resident Wilson Weddington - co-founder of the town of Lankershim, now known as North Hollywood.

The Weddington is one of a handful of large mixed-use projects now rising in North Hollywood's commercial core, including Lankershim + Otsego and the Micropolitan at Chandler.  These projects will set the stage for a transformative development slated for the Metro station's park-and-ride lot.
