It seems that a pair of long-delayed hotels in Downtown Los Angeles has found the light at the end of the tunnel - again.
The New York Post reports that hotelier Stephen Brandman will partner with the Chetrit Group to reopen the Trinity Hotel and the Hotel Clark under the Journal Hotel Collection.
The Trinity, alternatively known as the Embassy, is an approximately 10-story building located at 9th Street and Grand Avenue. The interior of the 104-year-old mid-rise edifice has already been converted into 183 hotel rooms, which previously slated to operate as an Empire Hotel. The building also features ground-floor restaurant space, a rooftop hotel, and a restored 2,000-seat auditorium.
The Post reports that the Trinity Hotel is expected to open by the end of 2018.
Also involved in the announcement is the Hotel Clark, an 11-story, 347-room landmark building located at 426 S. Hill Street near Pershing Square. Brandman told the Post that the property, which is scheduled to open next fall, also features a rooftop pool and restaurant and several other food-and-beverage venues.
Crews have recently been observed delivering furniture at both properties.
Both the Hotel Clark and Trinity Auditorium has been substantially complete since 2014, with most furnishings already in place. However, the projects hit a roadblock in the form of an appeal by the labor union Unite HERE Local 11.
