New plans have emerged for the construction of an affordable housing complex just west of the 110 Freeway in Westlake.

The property, located at 1316 Linwood Avenue, was previously poised to see the construction of an eight-story building featuring 150 units of permanent supportive housing, priced at the low- and very low-income levels. That application, which came from Relevant Group, was intended to satisfy replacement housing obligations for proposed redevelopments of the Hotel Barclay and Morrison Hotels in Downtown Los Angeles - two projects which are no longer moving forward.

The revised application, filed by former Relevant Group partner Richard Heyman, now envisions the construction of a smaller five-story edifice featuring 106 apartments. Unlike the original plan, which called for exclusively one-bedroom apartments, the revised proposal calls for a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom floor plans.

Renderings depict the project as a contemporary low-rise structure.

Plans also indicate that Holos Communities is partnering on the development.
