Completion is nearing for One South, a rare mixed-use development in Redondo Beach

Cape Point Development and Encore Capital Management are partnering on the four-story development, which is rising on a rectangular site near the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Prospect Avenue.  At completion, plans call for 52 condominiums in addition to 10,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space and a basement parking structure.

Withee Malcolm Architects is designing the project, which will offer a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom condos ranging between 869 and 1,945 square feet.  Plans also call for common spaces such as courtyards and roof decks.

One South is one of the last mixed-use developments to break ground in Redondo Beach before its city council initiated a moratorium on the construction of such projects.  That ban has since been lifted.
