With one development completed and three additional towers on the way, the Onni Group has clearly demonstrated its bullish optimism about the future of Downtown Los Angeles.  Now, the Vancouver, Canada-based developer continues to expand its Southern California operations outside of the region's historic center.

Last week, Onni filed plans with the City of Los Angeles for the construction of a low-rise mixed-use development at 6911 W. Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood.  According to a case filing from the Department of City Planning, the project will consist of a seven-story structure featuring 231 dwelling units and 15,000 square feet of ground-level commercial space.

All existing buildings on the approximately 1.5-acre property - which currently houses a truck rental business - would be demolished.

The proposed development will require multiple discretionary actions, including a zone change and a master conditional use permit for alcohol sales and consumption.

Additional details about the project are unavailable at this point in time.
