PATH Villas Hollywood, located at 5627 Fernwood Avenue, consists of a six-story building that will feature 60 apartments - including 59 permanent supportive housing units and one manager's unit. Plans also call for on-site social services offices and a small parking garage for 14 cars.

When we last dropped by the site in April 2022, wood framing for the podium-type structure had just reached its third level. Nine months later, work for the apartment complex is in its home stretch.

Designed by The Architects Collective, the PATH Villas have a U-shaped footprint, wrapping a landscaped central courtyard. Plans also call for a community room and a rooftop deck.

According to a staff report to the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, the apartments at the PATH Villas are to be priced for households earning at or below 50 percent of the area median income. Rents would range from $509 per month for a studio unit to $909 per month for a one-bedroom apartment.

Besides its new Hollywood project, PATH is also in the midst of construction at a new supportive housing complex in the unincorporated community of West Carson.
