A vacant lot in the unincorporated community of Westmont may transform into a public park, according to an agenda item from this week's meeting of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.
The Board of Supervisors is poised to approve a $650,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDGB) Advance Contract with the Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust for the construction of a pocket park at 9501 S. Normandie Avenue. The approximately .16-acre property would be improved with drought-tolerant landscaping, perimeter fencing, lighting and various fitness and physical activity elements.
Funding would come from CDGB funds allocated to the Second Supervisorial District.
Additional details about the project are not specified.
