One year after we last checked in, a pair of two mixed-use apartment buildings continues to take shape next to Barnsdall Park.
Century City-based LaTerra Development, is behind the two projects at 4850 and 4900 Hollywood Boulevard, which straddle the border between East Hollywood and Los Feliz. The two structures will feature a combined total of 246 residential units atop 22,500 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and attached parking at completion.
The larger buildings, located at the southwest corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Edgemont Street, stands five stories in height and will feature 150 apartments - including 24 affordable units - above 13,000 square feet of ground-floor retail.
Across Edgemont Street, framing is complete for a six-story building which will feature 96 rental units above approximately 9,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space and parking for 167 vehicles.
Urban Architecture Lab is designing both apartment developments, which will include rooftop decks, courtyards, and other residential amenities. The two buildings are oriented to preserve view corridors from Barnsdall Park and the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Hollyhock House, which was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2019.
