A mixed-use office campus could break ground on a vacant site in El Segundo by mid-2019, according to the project's draft environmental impact report.

The Beach Cities Media Campus, a joint venture between Continental Development Partners and Mar Ventures, would rise from an approximately 6.39-acre property at 2021 Rosecrans Avenue.  Plans call for the construction of multiple buildings containing 240,000 square feet of office space, 66,000 square feet of studio space, 7,000 square feet of retail.  Parking for up to 980 vehicles would be provided in a seven-level garage and an adjoining surface lot.

The Gensler-designed campus would front Rosecrans with the five-story, 88-foot-tall office building - capped by a roof deck - and the standalone production facility.  The retail would be located in two single-story structures toward the northern property line.

Construction of the project is expected to occur over a period of 18 months, beginning no sooner than July 2019 and finishing in 2020.

Continental Development and Mar Ventures have built several office campuses together, including the 15-acre Elevon campus in El Segundo - which opened in 2015 - and a three-building development now under construction in Del Rey.
